Richard Dean Milroy, 72, died Thursday, April 3, 2025 at University Hospital Iowa City.
A visitation will be held from 4 until 7 Friday evening, April 11, 2025, at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello.  Private family graveside services will be held at a later date.
Surviving are 2 sons, Richard Jr. (Keri Childs), Randy (Tracey) 3 grandchildren, Rick, Amanda (Matt) Goedken, Gabrielle, 5 great-grandchildren, Addison, Leah, Benjamin, Evelyn, Lillyan and his sister Nancy Eiben.  He was preceded by his parents, his wife Joyce, an infant son Scott and a sister Linda Willard.
Richard Dean Milroy was born April 16, 1952, at Monticello, Iowa, the son of Dean and Jeraldine Appleby Milroy.  Dick attended the Monticello community schools and completed his education with Job Corp in Nebraska where he learned carpentry.  He worked for a brief time for the City of Monticello Street Department. Dick married Joyce Boeding on November 27, 1971, at St. Luke Catholic Church, Hopkinton.  Dick and Joyce purchase the Mini Mart in Hopkinton and operated it for 15 years.    Dick spent 37 years working at Energy Manufacturing retiring in 2014.
Dick enjoyed watching NASCAR in person or on tv he also enjoyed riding his motorcycle or driving his 1963 Impala.
