Richard Ortgies, 80, died Friday September 25, 2026 at St. Lukes Hospita, Cedar Rapids.

He is survived by 2 daughters, Susan Ochoa and Gail Sims, 4 grandchildren and a sister, Ruth Engelken.

He was born on March 26, 1946, at John McDonald Hospital, Monticello, Iowa. Richard was a graduate of the Anamosa High School with the class of 1964. His life’s work was farming and raising pure-bred cattle.
