Robert DeShaw, 94, died Sunday, May 10, 2026 at Windmill Manor, Coralville.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 Saturday morning, May 16, 2026, at St. Lukes Catholic Church, Hopkinton. Friends may call from 9 until service time on Saturday at the Church. Interment at Hopkinton Cemetery. Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello is caring for Bob and his family.
Surviving is a son Randy (Kathy) 2 grandchildren, Ryan (Brianne) Brent (Sarah) 5 great-grandchildren, Josiah, Hannah, Jacob, Titan, Weston, and a step-great-grandson, Jack Harvey, his siblings, Steve (Lyda)DeShaw, Lee (Gale) DeShaw, Gary (Deb) DeShaw, Larry(Connie) DeShaw Earl (Joanne) DeShaw Sharon Meyer, Juanita Lake,, Diane Potter,.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Duane and Carrie DeShaw, and his stepmother, Virginia, his wife, Bernadine, a granddaughter-in-law Stephanie, and siblings and in-laws, Duane Jr. (Luella) DeShaw, Francis DeShaw, Roger DeShaw, Jacqueline DeShaw, Ella Mae (Bill) Wernimont, Betty (Roger)McIntosh, Dale Potter.
Robert James DeShaw was born August 1, 1931, in North Fork Township, Delaware County, Iowa, the son of Duane and Caroline Bessler DeShaw. Bob attended the Joseph School near Hopkinton, St. Pats Catholic School at Ryan and the Buck Creek School. Bob married Bernadine Trumm on November 26, 1955, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Cascade. Bob has been employed at Energy Manufacturing, Farm Feed Service. He hauled milk for the Hopkinton Creamery and drove for Feldman Trucking and Bob Helmrich.
