Robert Soper age, 88, died Saturday evening, January 25, 2020 at the Anamosa Care Center following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 Saturday morning, February 1, 2020 at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello with interment in the Oakwood Cemetery with Military Honors. Friends may call after 10:00 on Saturday morning at the Goettsch Funeral Home.

Robert Rolland Soper was born October 30, 1931 on a farm in Jones County, Iowa. He was the son of Rolland and Lottie Kershner, Soper. He received his education in the rural schools near his home. Bob served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He returned home and worked in the logging industry before he started farming the family farm. Bob learned to fly at an early age and flew for many years, even having his own landing strip on the farm. He was also an avid fisherman.

Surviving is his daughter Robin and a sister Jane (Bill) Walderbach. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marjorie in 1982 a brother Richard and a sister Joanne Shrewsberry.
