Robert Carl Wehling, age 81, passed away Friday, July 14, 2023, at Jones Regional Medical Center.

Private family services will be held at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa with entombment in the Mt Calvary Cemetery, Dubuque.  Pastor Holly Knouse officiated at the services.   By visiting Goettschonline.com you may share your thoughts, memories, and condolences with Roberts's family and sign the online guest book.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Carol, two children, Randy (Cathy) Wehling, Rod (Cori) Wehling, four grandchildren, Katie (Jordan) Kaiser, Mitch (Taryn) Wehling, Heidi (Doune) Alderdyce, Trevor Wehling and friend Bailey and three great-grandchildren, Miles, Harper, and Wells with one more on the way and his sister Marigene (Tom) Shannon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl in 1974 and Dorothea in 2022.

Robert Carl Wehling was born April 23, 1942,in Anamosa, Iowa.  Bob was the son of Carl and Dorothea Wehling. Bob married Carol Rolwes on November 30, 1963, at Holy Ghost Church in Dubuque, Iowa. Bob and Carol would have celebrated 60 years of marriage in November 2023.

Bob graduated from Anamosa High School in 1960. He continued his education in automotive mechanics at Universal Trades School in Omaha, Nebraska. Upon graduation, Bob worked as a bus mechanic at Ford Town in Cedar Rapids and then at the Anamosa Community Schools. A few years after graduating, he began his life-long career as a farmer.  His true joy and passion was to work the land.

Bob loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the Anamosa Ambulance Service, Jones County Deputy Rickels, and the staff of Jones Regional Medical Center for their care and support.
