Rosemary Rohr, 75, of Anamosa, died Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Unity Point Jones Regional Medical Center in Anamosa.
Funeral services will be 1 pm Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at the Goettsch Funeral Home in Anamosa. Rev. Morris Hurd will officiate. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery, rural Anamosa. Rosemary Catherine Owens was born August 12, 1946 in Clinton, IA the daughter of Joseph and Leola (Pelham) Owens. She attended grade school at St. Patrick's in Clinton and graduated from Clinton High School. She married Gerald Rohr on August 26, 1995 in Burlington, IA. She was an accountant and worked most recently for the Jones County Conservation Board, retiring in 2014.
Rosemary possessed a deep interest in history and preserving culture, which led her to volunteer her time in these areas. She was involved with Silos and Smokestacks, Jones Soil and Water Conservation, and the Jones County Historic Preservation Commission. She also managed the relocation of the Hale Bridge to the Anamosa area. She enjoyed music, traveling to interesting places in the state, and gardening. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years Gerald Rohr, her children Thomas (Sandy) Claussen, Anamosa, Marshall Wright, Anamosa, and Jenne (Wade) McNaney, Gardner, KS, step-children Gary (Rayne) Rohr, Richard (Krista) Rohr, and Tom (Jamie) Rohr, all of CO, grandchildren Jack, Sarah, Dylan, Anneliese, Dezi, Dustin, Shannon, Ashley, Shelby, Kendrick, Katy, Khloe, Keegan, Hollie, Kali, and Addie, eleven great grandchildren, a sister Doris Lyon, Burlington and a brother-in-law Gene Rohr, Grinnell, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Thomas Owens.
The family would like to thank the staffs of Pinicon Place, Physicians and Clinics of Iowa, and Unity Point Jones Regional Medical Center for their wonderful care and compassion.
