Sandra K. (Lorenzen) Stephen, age 79, passed away on November 24, 2023, at St. Luke's hospital in Cedar Rapids, IA, surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 7, 1944, in Anamosa, IA, the daughter of Grover and Mary Jo (Miller) Lorenzen.
Sandy graduated from Olin Consolidated School and went on to study at AIC in Davenport, IA. Throughout her career, she worked for Collin's Radio, was an office clerk for Purina Mills, a cashier at Citizens State Bank and a partner at Stephen Motors.
Sandy married Lynn Hansen on September 5, 1964, and had three children. They divorced in 1988. She met and later married Roger Stephen on September 3, 2005. They enjoyed 22 years being together while being married 18 of them.
Throughout her adult life she was an avid Hawkeye fan cheering her Hawkeyes to 3 wins on Friday. Sandy enjoyed staying at the cabin and going for boat rides on Lake Delhi. Going for car rides and dinner with friends and family. Loved mowing the lawn and taking care of her plants and flowers. She enjoyed photography, painting, sewing, and making porcelain dolls. She was an extraordinary cook. Took care of everyone. Anyone who met her, loved her. She loved to look over her pond at her windmill. She enjoyed holidays and family time at home and the cabin.
She was preceded in death by her parents Grover & Mary Jo Lorenzen, and her son Bradley Stephen. She's survived by her husband Roger Stephen, her brother Garen Lorenzen, Pam of Olin, IA, her daughter's Patricia (Hansen) Alsenay, Taylor of Park Hill, OK; Michelle (Stephen) Seigel, Cole, Tehlequah, OK; her son's Richard (Eric) Hansen, Jayme Price of Golden, CO; Gregory Stephen of AZ and daughter Tara (Hansen) Irwin, Jim of DeWitt, IA and her dog Jordan. Twelve cherished grandkids and two great-grandkids. Grandma loved you all so much!
