Shelby Arnold, 39 of Hopkinton, died Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids following an extended illness.

A Celebration of Life will be held 1:30 Saturday afternoon, September 16, 2023 at the Hopkinton Community Church with internment in the Hopkinton Cemetery. Friends may call from Noon until time of service. Surviving is her husband, John, 2 children, Tariq and Yasmin, her parents, Bob and Sharon Porter, a brother, Brendon (Michelle) Porter, 2 nieces Jaiden and Ashtyn and her mother-in-law, Rita Pritchett.  She was preceded by her father-in-law John.

Shelby Marie Porter was born March 10, 1984, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.   She was the daughter of Robert and Sharon Green, Porter.  Shelby graduated from West Branch High School.  She continued her education at the University of Iowa receiving degrees in Communications and International Studies.   Shelby first job was with Midwest Airlines.  She later worked for Hyatt Hotels in the corporate office in Chicago, heading the International Affairs department.

Shelby married John Arnold on July 2, 2011 at Hopkinton, Iowa.  The couple resided in Hopkinton after that.    Shelby enjoyed doing crafts, and art. She had a heart for rescue animals of all kinds.
