Obituary

Steven Charles Sieger, age 74, passed away on March 26, 2026.

Steven was born on April 11, 1951, in Hot Springs, South Dakota, to Theodore and Bernita (Pudwill) Sieger. He built a life centered on hard work, family, and dedication. Steven spent many years working at Hawkeye Foods (US Foods), where he was known for his strong work ethic and reliability. In his free time, he enjoyed carpentry and took great pride in working with his hands. He also had a well-known sweet tooth and was known for sneaking treats to his granddaughters despite their parents' protests. He loved the serenity of living at Holiday Lake and was a devoted Hawkeye fan. Above all, Steven loved doting on his wife and his granddaughters, who brought him immense joy.


On October 13, 1978, he married the love of his life, Carly (Coan) Sieger. Together they shared many years of marriage, building a family and creating lasting memories.


Steven is survived by his wife, Carly (Coan) Sieger; his children, Justin (Caitlin) Sieger and Stephanie (Daniel) Wilson; his siblings, Dennis (Debbie) Sieger and Frosty (Brenda) Sieger; and his beloved granddaughters, Piper, Adalynn, Lillian, and Taytum. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Bernita (Pudwill) Sieger.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 2nd at 11:00 a.m. at Goettsch Funeral Home in Monticello, Iowa. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.  A gathering for friends and family will be held following the service from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Eagles Club in Monticello.


Steven will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his steady presence, and the quiet strength he brought to those around him.
