The family of Susan Marie Ellison, 71, of Anamosa, Iowa are saddened to announce her passing on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at home, surrounded by the love of her family, following a brief battle with Pancreatic Cancer.

A Celebration of her Life will be held from 12 to 3 pm Sunday, June 8, 2025, at the Wapsipinicon Country Club. Susan's family asks you to come share your stories, memories, and condolences with them.

Susan Marie Ellison was born on April 5, 1954, in Anamosa, the daughter of Donald and Betty (Butler) Ellison. She attended school in Anamosa. She held several jobs in her lifetime, including working at Norand in Cedar Rapids, the Viola United Methodist Church, the Viola Store, and at Tapkens. She was the mother of two, grandmother, sister, and friend. Susan enjoyed cooking, the Archery Club at Anamosa Bowhuters, fishing, hunting for asparagus and mushrooms with her friend Valarie Waughtel-White. Her love of gardening and flowers was a love like no other.

She is remembered by her children Leslie Glick (Cory) and Tish Fritze (Ellie Mae), grandchildren Tristan (Ben) Vernon, Madison Camp (Lathan), Jayden Lindley (Marcello), Keeley Jo Pearson, and Noah Etzel, great grandchildren Jamison and Sterling Vernon, Kalaya Sue Cooper, and Kaysen Armari Groothuis, and by her siblings Judy Ellison Daniel (David), Donnie Ellison (Carlotta), and Debbie Pearson (Cecil-Glen).

Preceding her in death were her parents, her brother Dean, and her infant great granddaughter Rhiver Sue Pearson.
