Please use the Guestbook and share your thoughts, memories, stories, and condolences with Tyler's family.

Throughout his life, Tyler received excellent health care. The medical teams at Jones Regional Medical Center, Anamosa Family Medicine, St. Luke's Hospital, and the Stead family Children's Hospital at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics have been tremendous. We have been blessed with great nurses over the years, including Debbie, Jen, Melissa, and Michelle, as well as the nurses at St. Luke's Women's and Children's Center. Tyler had some great therapists at Witwer as well, including Emily, Mackinzie, and Natalie.

Tyler was born August 20, 2004, at St. Luke's Hospital to Katie Heady. Although Tyler's time on earth was short, he accomplished so many things. He was able to enjoy all the fun of camping at Camp Courageous. He got to meet the Iowa Hawkeye Football players and coaches. He loved anything that made sound and all the lights. Above all he loved his mom and knew she always put him first no matter what. He loved hearing his grandpa's Harley and loved when grandpa put him to bed. He loved all the care his grandma and aunt provided him over the years. Tyler lit up any room he was in. His smile was contagious, and those baby blue eyes, long eyelashes, and curly hair sure got him all the attention in the world. He always enjoyed snuggling with great grandma Daisy until he outgrew her lap. He loved his cousin Juniper and her sleepovers where she turned all his lights on for fun.

Tyler graduated from Anamosa High School on May 21, 2023. During his years of school, he created lasting memories with all his teachers, paras, school nurses, and classmates. One memory that always stood out to the kids was during second grade spelling tests. Tyler would just laugh his heart out and no one could ever figure out why. He was adored by everyone in school. He was blessed to have the best para at school, Cheryl. He was also able to attend his senior prom thanks to two special classmates of his, Maya and Joslin.

Tyler is survived by his mother Katie, grandparents Kim and Everett Heady, great grandmother Daisy Heady, all of Anamosa, an aunt Heather Heady, Coggon, uncles Wesley Heady, Denver, CO, and James Hoffnagle, Prairieburg, best cousins Samantha and Breanna Hoffnagle, as well as by several aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends.

Tyler was preceded in death by his grandparents Maurice and Lois Port and Ed Heady, and a special friend, Danielle Weideman, who he is dancing with in heaven.

A special thank you to everyone who has ever been part of Tyler's life. He will be missed by all. Thank you as well to the crews of the Anamosa and Monticello Ambulances and to Officer Nicole Minnihan of the Anamosa Police Department.
