John Eilers age 62, died Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Joan and Ed Hemphill Hospice in St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids following an illness of several months.

A celebration of John's life will be held with a gathering from 2 until 5 Saturday, November 28, 2015 at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa.

Surviving is his wife, Diann, a step-daughter, Nichole Lovell and fiancé Jarrod Wiles, LaPorte City, 3 step-grandchildren, Mackenzie Yarrington, Maxtin Lovell and Tyra Wiles,  his father, Bob Eilers, Anamosa and siblings, Phil (Kim) Eilers , Anamosa, Becky (Steve) Brown, Springville, Galen (Sue) Eilers, Janesville, He was preceded in death by his mother Donna Doloris Eilers, and his brother Paul Thomas Eilers and his father-in-law, Bill Marsh.

John Robert Eilers was born January 16, 1953 at Anamosa, Iowa.  He was the son of Robert and Donna Davidson, Eilers.   John graduated with the class of 1971 from the Anamosa Community Schools.   At the age of 16 he started working at Family Foods Grocery Store in Anamosa.   He worked in the grocery department for many years and later became a meat cutter.  John and Diann Marsh were married on April 11, 1992 at the First Congregational Church in Anamosa.    He retired in 2011.   When John was not working he loved to hunt and fish.
